Updated: Jun 17, 2019
Tenkara fly fishing (Japanese: テンカラ, literally: "from heaven", or "from the skies") is a simple type of fishing practiced in Japan. Primarily used for mountain stream trout fishing, tenkara is one of the most popular methods of angling among fresh-water mountain anglers in Japan. "Wikipedia"
Tenkara is becoming more popular in the United States, and all over the world. The common debate is do we classify this as fly fishing, or modern day cane pole fishing.
Oh Wells, we personally just want people to get out in nature and enjoy the outdoors. Tenkara can be used in so many different methods.
The reason we choose tenkara: It is a great introduction into fly fishing, but it is also small enough to fit into a small backpack or even your pocket. You can carry a tenkara rod onto a plane and it can enhance activities such as biking, hiking, running, walking, kayaking, paddle-boarding and the list just keeps going.
